Hands Tied, Mouth Taped: 34-Year-Old Woman Found Murdered at Home in Gurugram

Woman Found Dead Inside Sohna Home

A 34-year-old woman was found murdered inside her home in Daulah village, Sohna, in Gurugram on Friday, with her hands tied and tape covering her mouth and face. Police are investigating a possible theft angle, but the motive remains unconfirmed.

The victim, identified as Neetu, was discovered by her husband, Prashant, when he returned home with their children from school at around 2 pm. He reportedly found household belongings scattered across the house, raising suspicions that an intruder might have entered the property.

Prashant searched the premises and found his wife lying in the bathroom. He immediately took her to a private hospital in Sohna, where doctors declared her dead.

The discovery has triggered a police investigation involving local officers and forensic experts. Investigators are examining the crime scene, checking CCTV footage from the surrounding area and working to identify those responsible.

No suspects have been identified so far.

Scattered Belongings Raise Suspicion of Theft

The condition of the house has prompted investigators to examine whether the killing was connected to a robbery. However, police have not confirmed whether any cash, jewellery or other valuables were missing.

The distinction matters. Scattered belongings may indicate that someone searched the house, but investigators must establish whether theft occurred and whether it was connected to the murder.

Police are trying to determine how the alleged attackers entered the property, what happened while the family was away and whether the victim knew anyone who might have been involved.

The timeline is another central part of the investigation. Officers are examining the period between the family's departure in the morning and Prashant's return at around 2 pm, when he discovered his wife's body.

Establishing that sequence could help investigators narrow the window in which the crime took place and identify potential witnesses or suspicious activity in the village.

At this stage, the possible robbery motive remains a line of inquiry rather than an established finding.

Police and Forensic Teams Examine Crime Scene

Following information about the incident, a police team led by ACP (Sohna) Mukesh Yadav, along with the Station House Officer of Sohna Sadar police station, reached the residence and inspected the scene.

A forensic science laboratory team also examined the premises and collected evidence for analysis. Such evidence may help investigators reconstruct the events inside the house and assess whether the available findings support the suspected sequence of events.

Police are also checking CCTV footage from cameras in the surrounding area. Investigators will be looking for movements that could help establish who approached or left the property during the relevant period.

The examination of physical evidence, surveillance footage and statements from people connected to the family will form part of the effort to identify the suspects.

The victim's body was taken for the necessary medical examination. According to the station house officer, tape had been placed over her mouth and injury marks were visible on her body.

The exact cause of death will be established through the post-mortem examination. Until those findings are available, the precise circumstances of her death remain under investigation.

Murder Case to Name Unidentified Suspects

Police said they were initiating the process of registering a murder case against unidentified persons based on statements from the family.

The registration of the case will provide the formal basis for pursuing evidence, questioning relevant individuals and identifying those allegedly responsible. Police have not publicly established who carried out the killing or what prompted it.

Investigators face several questions: whether the house was targeted for valuables, how the attackers gained access, when the crime occurred and whether the available evidence points to a specific suspect.

The forensic findings and CCTV footage could help answer some of those questions. However, the investigation will depend on corroborating evidence rather than assumptions based on the condition of the house alone.

No arrests or confirmed motive have been reported in the information available about the case.

Investigation Continues as Motive Remains Unclear

The murder of Neetu has left investigators working to reconstruct what happened inside the Daulah village residence while the family was away.

The tied hands, taped mouth and scattered household belongings are key details in the case, but they do not by themselves establish why she was killed or who was responsible.

Police are pursuing the possible theft angle while examining forensic evidence, surveillance footage and family statements.

The next significant developments are likely to come from the post-mortem findings, the assessment of material collected at the scene and the identification of potential suspects.

For now, the case remains under investigation, with the motive and the identity of the alleged attackers still unconfirmed.
